ATC (Artistic Trading Cards)....get some blank trading cards from me (3 minimum). Draw, Paint, Collage, whatever you want.....turn them in to me and presto! Extra Credit.
You want some extra credit? Do THIS!!!!!Artist Bio (it's short....)Pick an artist. Go to wikipedia or some other site and do a write up that includes: --Artist name --Date of birth --Date of Death (if applicable) --3 facts about the persons life --Pick one artwork by the artist and write why you like it. You have to write a short paragraph that says WHY you like it. O.K. so you want extra credit, or you need extra credit cuz that last project was a rough patch. Either way here's what you do.....make something. Anything. As long as it's an expression of creation that you spent time doing, I'll take it. Sorry, but a five second heart you drew on a napkin at Wendy's doesn't count. But a series of hearts drawn on a variety of fast food napkins.....now you have my attention. This extra credit is available all year long. Bring in an ORIGINAL CREATION (not one made with the actual instructions) and it will be presented on the website, and you will get extra credit.
So my two year old daughter created a sweet masterpiece: a five foot drawing of a mama head and a baby head. On the Wall. One finds inspiration in the oddest places.....so! Go do a drawing on something other than paper. Any non-paper item will count. BUT CLEAR IT WITH YOUR PARENTS/GUARDIANS FIRST!!!!!! DON'T GO WRITING ON THE CARS AND THE WALLS AND ANYTHING ELSE TO GET YOURSELF IN TROUBLE. Out of the blue, four kids this week brought in awesome sculptures made out of all sorts of stuff....so let's do a sculpture extra credit. Make anything. Literally anything. Make it out of anything. Literally anything. Make it large, small, life-sized, any size. the only requirement: IT MUST BE 3D (that's kinda implied, but ya never know....). If you want, I'll display it in the class for a while too. The picture right here, this is Stacy's sculpture. He just showed up this morning with it and blew me away....so now you have another EC opportunity. Thanks Stacy. So since our newest art investigation series was paper sculptures, I'm gonna make that the subject of this extra credit assignment. Anything goes, as long as it's 3D and made of paper. Any kind of paper.....you can have other materials as part of it, but it needs to be 90-100% paper based. This EC will be available all year long. NO SNOWFLAKES (not that there's anything wrong with them, but I want you to push yourself beyond what you have done). NO THROWING STARS (I want you to spend more than 13 seconds on this) |
